My young friend Lisbeth Ron is doing a Master in Engineering in Paris and is a vivid photograph amateur. I here salute her « eye », her sense of artistry and her wonderful appetite for everything cultural. Nothing frightens her, she sees all the major expos, goes to concerts and opera and theatre, explores jazz, always looking for the best. And it shows in what she does on a daily basis. Frankly, there is no mistery… you reap what you sow.

Ceylan, 1880
Il arrive parfois qu’un visage m’émeuve profondément.
Ce fut le cas hier en découvrant ce visage de jeune ceylandaise datant de 1880 dont le portrait sera mis aux enchères chez Drouot ce mois-ci. Une splendeur.
Voilà pourquoi j’aime tellement la photographie. Surtout quand elle traverse le Temps pour venir me toucher.
On ne sait rien d’elle sauf qu’elle est devenue immortelle en arrivant intacte jusqu’à nous. On peut lui prêter mille histoires. Elle me fait rêver et me transporte ailleurs. Dans un autre monde, un autre temps, une autre vie. C’est le propre de l’Art et la photographie, c’est pour moi une grande forme d’Art. Ça touche au divin.
Je comprend l’émoi du collectionneur Jean-Paul Morin, ancien de Publicis, qui a découvert ce trésor sans doute payé une misère et qui vaudra de l’or. L’or du temps…
